Hi Abe. Sorry for the long delay in responding to your question. I just check iTunes and our recordings aren't there yet, but they should be eventually. When you do search for them use the following "Michigan state honors choir 2016." If you search for "Michigan state honors choir 2015" you can listen to and purchase recordings of last year's concert. Also, I received my DVD / CD combo from Soundwaves a few weeks ago. You can order one from their website @ www.soudwaves.org. Here is a direct link: http://soundwaves.org/shoppingcart/products.php?product=Michigan-Music-Conference-2016-6%252d7%252d8%252d9-Honors-Choirs-CD-and-DVD Enjoy!

Yes. Please wear all black and a solid blue tie to rehearsal. Thanks!

Xavier, it's an awesome accomplishment for you to be in honors choir during your first "official" year in choir! Congratulations! It's been my pleasure to work with you and the rest of the guys! :-) SING! :-)

Thank you Mr. Dee for teaching us how to be better singers. This experience has especially impacted me because it is my first year "officially" in choir and having the honor of being in this group means a lot.

I think the mini concert went well seize the day was pretty amazing. But i felt like the tenors were late and hesitant in the echos but it didn't make a huge difference ose shalom we did amazing but on some of the oo's we descended when we weren't supposed to and we went flat on the entrance with the bases. We still have some work on Moses we have most of the words memorized but we need the entrance's and pay attention to the conductor so we know when to cut off the ssss also we need to work on telling the story with our facial expressions. It will be amazing when we pull this off. when we pull this concert will be filled with beauty and jazz it will blow the crowd away.

Greetings again! It's been 3 weeks since our last rehearsal and we only have 3 more weeks until our next rehearsal. I hope that you've all been practicing consistently to be the best that you can be! A few of you have asked some specific questions and I've answered them. Thank you, and keep 'em comin'!

Remember that my expectation is that you will have EVERYTHING memorized at our next rehearsal. We may have a few things to correct or adjust, but you should have all of the words, pitches, and rhythms down. If you haven't taken the time to watch the video clips of newsies, please do. I'm hoping to spend some time at our next rehearsal working on some simple choreography.

I hope you all have a wonderful time with family and friends during the next few weeks! Merry Christmas! SING! :-)

Saturday, November 21st

Greetings gentlemen! Congratulations on an outstanding rehearsal! Although we had some challenges along the way today you continued PaSsionately PersIstently PatieNtly PursuinG Perfection! I think you're really starting to understand what I mean when I say SING!

Please thank your teachers for their continued help as we work together to create an unforgettable performance in Grand Rapids in January at the Michigan Music Conference. Remember what I expect of you regarding your practice time: a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, every week! If you invest this amount of time, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed in the results! The cliche is true; you reap what you sow. Sow BIG! Be the best that you can be! Everything should be memorized at the beginning of our next rehearsal. PLEASE make sure to use the website as a resource! I recommend checking it at least every couple of days for updates (especially in the comments section).

Thanks again to Josh for all of your comments and for sharing them with us today! Your thoughtfulness was inspiring! I would love to see all of you contribute over the next six weeks in whatever ways you can. If you're an artist, then please e-mail me a picture of your artwork at [email protected] and I will post it on the website. If you're a poet or a writer, share with us that way. I'd love to hear your stories and know what you are thinking of that helps you to connect more with the songs we are singing.

I plan to send an e-mail to you at least once a week. If you don't hear from me, feel free to check the website. I'll post my letters there too!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for all of you and for your willingness to share your voices and passion for singing with me and with each other! We all have much for which to be thankful!

I'm sure you're beginning to see how much I love acrostics so I've created a new one for you, the TTB choir:

Tenacious
Bodacious

For those of you who aren't exactly sure what those words mean, here are some definitions:

tre·men·dous

"Penny put in a tremendous amount of time"
informal

te·na·cious
təˈnāSHəs/
adjective
tending to keep a firm hold of something; clinging or adhering closely. "a tenacious grip"
not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action; determined. "you're tenacious and you get at the truth" persisting in existence; not easily dispelled. "a tenacious local legend"

bo·da·cious
bōˈdāSHəs/
adjective
excellent, admirable, or attractive.
"the restaurant serves bodacious grilled lobster"

audacious in a way considered admirable. "those bodacious dudes have an excellent time playing games with death"

Sincerely,

Mr. Dee
